Since the conceptual stages of the Fast Freight project, Fishbone have been working with Ricardo to support the concept design, detail design, drawing production and structural assessment of the conversion of a Class 321 into a parcel freight vehicle. To achieve this, we:
- Produce a simple series of installation drawings from existing 3D files to open the No. 1 end area for the modifications below
- Working closely with Ricardo to deliver an iterative 3D conceptual CAD model so the end user can assess feasibility and agree a direction for the detail design to progress in
- Guided detail design progression with an “FEA first” methodology, ensuring the best value is retained within the project
- Safeguarded the compliance by delivering a structural report which supports the project delivery against the appropriate standards
- Reducing cost with a high-level gauging analysis (with a drawing output) of the agreed design
