Our brief:
- We were asked to start by developing a Proof of Concept (POC) – a sandbox testing environment which would use sample data to simulate real life scenarios
- The second stage was to develop a cloud-based, production version of the product which would achieve HS2’s objective.
Our delivery:
- Our Software Development, Business Intelligence and Domain experts ran multiple ‘Requirements Gathering Sessions’ to build their understanding of the project
- These details were captured in Software Requirements Specifications (SRS) document – and from this, the POC web application was developed
- Our Client was able to test various features provided with the POC application to get a feel of howe the full-scale systems would look and function.
- Reduced need for redundant or duplicate purchases.
Results:
- The resulting Logistics Control Tower (LCT) is a ‘smart support system’ which has the capability to generate forecasts, predict challenges, create warnings and propose suggestions
- Through using the LCT, HS2 cab now maximise its use of budget, time and resources in the knowledge it has all available information at its fingertips, to enable best for programme decisions to be made.
“Our experience working in railway construction projects, combined with our expertise in software and logistics was critical to the delivery of this project, and the reason why HS2 chose us for its delivery.”
